Join a purpose-driven, winning team committed to results within an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Manager of Model Risk Governance supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank’s model risk governance process across various models, including market risk, retail and non-retail credit risk, operational risk, capital, and treasury models.

This role is part of the Model Risk Governance unit within Global Model Risk Management (GMRM), which provides independent validation, approval, and governance of models across risk portfolios.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  1. Analyze business processes and identify improvements to support Model Risk Governance activities and the implementation of the governance tools (e.g., SAS MRM, IBM OpenPages).
  2. Maintain an accurate and current inventory of models in the inventory platform, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  3. Support the completeness of the model inventory through attestations across all Bank areas and relevant committee meetings.
  4. Assist in the development and review of model risk dashboards, reports, and metrics using the model inventory data.
  5. Support and coordinate the creation of senior management and Board reports on model risk.
  6. Collaborate with business units, MVA, BGRO, Audit, Finance, and others for information requests related to model governance.
  7. Participate in governance activities, including attestations for compliance with policies and regulatory reporting.
  8. Contribute to the review and enhancement of the Bank’s model risk framework, policies, standards, and related documents, ensuring controls are in place.
  9. Research industry best practices in model risk management and governance, with attention to regulatory and audit expectations.
  10. Assist in updating policies and procedures to comply with new E-23 MRM Guidelines (effective Sept 11, 2025).
  11. Lead thematic reviews across subsidiaries to ensure policy compliance and identify systematic themes for improvement.
  12. Support data quality initiatives and help develop automated reports to reduce manual reviews.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in commerce, computer science, data science, or related fields with strong analytical skills.
  • At least 1 year of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or related functions preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases and systems for model inventory management (e.g., SAS MRM or similar).
  • Understanding of internal control design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Good coding skills (R, Python, SQL) are advantageous.
What’s in it for you?
  • An inclusive and collaborative environment that fosters creativity and celebrates success.
  • Competitive rewards: performance bonuses, Employee Share Ownership Program, pension matching, and health benefits from day one.
  • Opportunities for career development and progression.
