About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking to fill the role of Manager, Mineral Land Lease & Contracts within its organization to help lead a high-performing team. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with SOX Audit Controls as they relate to mineral and land contracts, while providing strategic leadership, coaching, and staff development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate well-developed communication skills to convey both factual and conceptual information, providing detailed explanations and interpretations to staff, professional, and business groups. Strong organizational and planning abilities are also essential for setting and surpassing goals, managing schedules, and consistently meeting deadlines in this role.

What you’ll do:

  1. Lead a team of approximately 10+ mineral and contract analysts
  2. Conduct staff performance planning and follow-up
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal decision-making and organizational skills to enhance efficiency and support capital and maintenance work
  4. Engage with collaborators, including area business units, external partners, and regulatory bodies, based in Calgary, as well as support all areas of the business
  5. Manage and stay within the team budget (SG&A)
  6. Provide tools, support, and resources to the team to accomplish business goals, corporate objectives, and meet critical metrics

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  1. Legally authorized to work in Canada
  2. Minimum 12+ years of experience
  3. Related post-secondary Business certification or equivalent experience
  4. Certification in oil and gas related discipline
  5. Leadership certification or equivalent experience
  6. Member of Canadian Association of Petroleum Land Administration (CAPLA) or Canadian Association of Land and Energy Professionals (CALEP)
