Position Summary :

The Manager is responsible for facilitating day-to-day patient care activities within the Maternal-Child Program at GGH. They provide daily direction to unit personnel to ensure high-quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with patients and families, aligned with GGH's vision, mission, and values. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that support departmental and organizational strategic goals.

The Manager, working with the Director, ensures an environment that promotes professional practice, leads clinical staff in evidence-based practices, and supports quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Abilities :
  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Health Administration (preferred).
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a maternal-child program, with 2 years in leadership.
  • Experience guiding staff with performance or attendance issues.
  • Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of national and provincial standards in perinatal, pediatric, and neonatal care.
  • Leadership skills in safety, patient experience, and staff satisfaction.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to facilitate positive interactions within healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Change management experience and success in implementing initiatives.
  • Ability to make effective decisions.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to analyze research and incorporate evidence-based practices into policies and procedures.
  • Skills in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Financial strategy and management skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical practices for laboring, postpartum, neonatal, and pediatric care.
