Job Details

Donald’s Fine Foods is a family-owned business operating for over 30 years, with six plants across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, serving domestic and international markets.

The Maintenance Manager (MM) reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, supervising staff, managing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Delegate maintenance tasks related to equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance personnel for optimal resource use.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained during all maintenance activities.
  • Hire, train, and coach maintenance staff; handle grievances and conduct investigations.
  • Manage procurement of repair materials and spare parts cost-effectively.
  • Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors as needed.
  • Maintain work order records for all maintenance duties.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead safety programs within the maintenance department.
  • Collaborate with purchasing for parts orders related to equipment breakdowns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with labor relations.
  • Millwright or Electrician ticket required; dual tickets preferred.
