Job summary

Skyservice Business Aviation Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the YYC maintenance department, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant aircraft maintenance services.

You will oversee planning, budgeting, resource management, and customer support while driving continuous improvement and adherence to standards. Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Aviation is preferred.
  • Valid Transport Canada ACA/AME license with appropriate endorsements.
  • 8+ years aviation experience with a minimum of 2 years management experience.
  • Solid knowledge of CARS, TC legislation, aircraft maintenance programs and publications.
  • Experience in project management or continuous business improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain strong organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the overall performance of the maintenance department at YYC to achieve goals and KPIs.
  • Ensures departmental processes are efficient, well-documented, and followed.
  • Collaborates with the Director, Maintenance to set annual performance objectives and metrics.
  • Oversees project execution and takes corrective action to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Acts as single point of contact for maintenance projects in the region and communicates status.
  • Supports airline customers and offsite locations.
  • Ensures personnel have required equipment, hangar facilities, and certifications.
  • Works with Material Management to issue purchase orders per procedures.
  • Anticipates and solves problems to meet short and long-term goals.
  • Uses performance management to drive appropriate behavior.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships; aligns policies across bases.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations and performance of the maintenance department, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant aircraft maintenance services. This role oversees operational planning, project execution, resource management, budgeting, and customer support while driving continuous improvement and adherence to regulatory and company standards. Working closely with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams, the Maintenance Manager ensures operational excellence, workforce readiness, and the achievement of key business and performance objectives.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSBILITIES:
  • Leads the overall performance of the maintenance department in YYC to achieve goals and objectives; including planning, budget, safety, security, and quality KPIs;
  • Ensures departmental processes are efficient and effective, documented in detailed procedures, and adhered to by those involved;
  • Works with the Director, Maintenance to establish annual performance objectives and metrics;
  • Oversees project execution, taking corrective action when necessary to ensure consistent high degree of customer satisfaction with service offering and maximum operational efficiency and effectiveness;
  • Provides a single point of contact on each maintenance project for that region by monitoring, tracking, escalating, and communicating status for work in progress in accordance with contractual or other requirements;
  • Ensures airline customers and offsite locations are supported;
  • Ensures that all personnel (company and contracted agency personnel) have the necessary equipment, hangar facilities, and skills (certifications) required to properly accomplish their duties in accordance with procedures;
  • Works with Material Management to issue Purchase Orders for materials, tools, parts, subcontracted work in accordance with procedures;
  • Anticipates and solves problems effectively to ensure both short and long-term goals are achieved;
  • Uses performance management to drive right behavior;
  • Develops, monitors, evaluates, and cultivates effective relationships;
  • Works with the Maintenance Managers in the other locations to integrate policies and procedures to ensure consistency at all bases.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Post-secondary Education in Aviation is preferred;
  • Must possess a valid Transport Canada ACA/AME license with appropriate endorsements;
  • Minimum eight (8) years aviation experience & qualifications coupled with a minimum of two (2) years management experience (preferably in aviation maintenance);
  • Solid knowledge of CARS, TC legislation, aircraft maintenance programs, aircraft technical publications coupled with an understanding of business plans;
  • Experience in project management and/or continuous business improvement;
  • Ability to work under pressure and possess excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
