JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team as a Manager, IT Product Delivery.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Product Delivery, this position is responsible for leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary software engineering team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, and ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compliant product delivery through agile practices, risk management, and strategic alignment with organizational goals.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities to foster a motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Promote a collaborative and positive team culture encouraging continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, agile methodologies, and coding best practices to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Establish and manage delivery processes to ensure timely and successful product launches meeting customer and market expectations.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively address delivery risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams for seamless product outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third parties to optimize product value, cost-effectiveness, and delivery efficiency.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on KPIs to drive process improvements and strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards, aligning technical efforts with organizational strategy and communicating progress to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields, especially if combined with technical experience.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, product delivery, or related roles, including 3–5 years in leadership or management.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary software teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience managing end-to-end software delivery processes.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Proven vendor management and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing KPIs for decision-making and process improvement.
