Position: Manager, Integration, Testing & Verification
We are looking for a Manager, Integration, Testing & Verification to manage and coordinate all activities associated with an IVVQ work package.
S/he will supervise and direct the duties of staff members assigned to them, including the coordination of activities/time and delegation of workload. They will also ensure that the work performed by the team meets overall product/project requirements, consistent with the standards of Hitachi Rail.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for the implementation of a vigorous IVVQ program.
- Writes the IVVQ Plans.
- Tailors the IVVQ environment (process, practices and tools) including both for factory and site according to Country/Company requirements.
- Plans, coordinates and monitors the performance of the work, identifies and manages risks during all the Work Package lifecycle until the closure.
- Ensures compliance with commitments relating to the Work Package (costs, deadlines, quality) in accordance with project plans and objectives.
- Manages and coordinates internal teams performing a work package.
- Liaises with the Solution Engineering Manager for all aspects relating to the work package.
- Conducts all work package activities (including those relating to risks and opportunities) to reach completion of the project.
- Performs WPM role from authorization to start until closure of the work package for all aspects of the work package including organization, scheduling, effort, budget, etc.
- Ensures that the IVVQ strategy is defined and maintained for entire lifecycle of the project/product.
- Acts as the main point-of-contact for the CENELEC Independent Validator.
- Ensures that the IVVQ team adheres to in-scope standards and IVVQ plans.
- Provides leadership and motivation to staff while acting as a mentor to assigned staff.
- Provides input to IVVQ Functional Manager to manage and evaluate employees' performance.
- Prepares and implements low level plans, schedules and budgets for software projects and reports status.
- Assists the IVVQ Functional Manager on staffing plans and in adherence to capital and expense budgets.
- Works in conjunction with the IVVQ Functional Manager to ensure all recommendations (such as training, tools, etc.) adhere to overall departmental budget.
- Chairs IVVQ reviews.
- Ensures that the test automation process is fully deployed on the project/product.
- Provides support to the IVVQ Functional Manager for cost estimates during the bid process.
- Provides IVVQ risks and the value associated with the risks for a particular bid.
Required Skills and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- More than 8 years relevant working experience.
- Understanding of Work Package Management concepts.
- Understanding and managing the risks.
Preferred Skills and Experience:- Experience in managing small to medium IVVQ teams.
- Deep understanding of the Project Management Principles (ideally achieved through managing projects for multiple years).
- Practical experience in terms of creating and executing complex test plans and procedures.
- Ability to manage projects within budget/schedule in a challenging environment.
- Experience in working within a team using Agile Methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of task planning, including estimation, performance tracking and reporting.
- Practical experience in using typical programs which are part of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Expert knowledge of requirements management and problems tracking tools (e.g. Jira, ClearQuest, DOORS, etc.).
- Knowledgeable of SelTrac CBTC signaling systems.
- Expert knowledge of the roles and activities of other departments that are related to IVVQ.
- Knowledge of Engineering risk and decision-making process.
- Professional Engineer's Licence (P.Eng.).
