BC Energy Regulator is seeking a Manager, Information Systems to lead the delivery and operation of enterprise information systems, translate strategic priorities into coordinated work plans, and ensure resources, risks, and dependencies are managed effectively.

You will guide a team of Business Analysts, coach staff, and ensure analysis and delivery activities meet organizational standards and best practices while providing executive-level decision support on investments and priorities.

Job description

The Manager, Information Systems (Manager) is accountable for the delivery and operation of enterprise information systems, including project delivery, systems operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager provides operational leadership and supports strategic direction to ensure that information systems initiatives are effectively prioritized, resourced, delivered and sustained in alignment with BCER’s organizational mandate and strategic direction.

The Manager oversees the delivery and operation of multiple concurrent information systems initiatives, translating strategic priorities into coordinated work plans and ensuring resources, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder requirements are effectively managed. The role monitors portfolio performance and operational health, resolves delivery and operational issues, and provides recommendations to support informed decision-making and successful business outcomes.

The Manager leads a team of Business Analysts and is accountable for the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of business analysis and project management practices across the Information Systems portfolio. This includes assigning and prioritizing work, coaching and performance management, and ensuring analysis and delivery activities meet organizational standards and best practices.

The Manager provides expert advice and decision support to IDS and BCER leadership regarding system development investments, delivery approaches, operational priorities, and portfolio trade-offs. This includes assessing risks, impacts, and capacity constraints; identifying interdependencies; and recommending mitigation strategies and improvement opportunities that directly inform executive decisions.

Office Location: Fort St John or Kelowna or Victoria

Salary: $91,036.23 - $103,922.02 - Permanent Full-Time, based on a 35-hour work week.

An additional 10.75% Job Family Market Multiplier will be added to the posted salary.

An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for employees based in northern location.
