We are currently hiring for the position of:
MANAGER, INDUSTRY SALES (Events & Programming)
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Manager of Industry Sales is accountable for stewarding existing stakeholder relationships while cultivating net new opportunities with film organizations looking to promote their content, talent, and initiatives at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospect, develop and manage a pipeline of pitches and proposals for various professional promotional opportunities in relation to events and industry programming integration.
Manage contractual negotiations with, but not limited to national promotional agencies, sales agents, distributors, streamers, film commissions, and trade publications within a long lead pipeline of prospects for market screenings, industry programming and event hosting.
Screen incoming inquiries interested in professional integration at the festival. Identify and suggest suitable opportunities tailored to the client's needs.
Develop outreach strategies that grow visibility for TIFF’s market screenings, industry programming and professional event hosting offerings.
Track revenue and financial impact of sales to date in collaboration with Senior Manager
Create, maintain and distribute sales support materials demonstrative of specifications, deadlines and details on included services.
Act as key representative at various interdepartmental meetings to drive critical collaboration and communication related to the delivery of industry sales contractual obligations.
Effective people manage two seasonal direct reports including goal setting, professional development, coaching and consistent feedback to maintain motivation for delivering required levels of performance.
Develop processes and materials for staff onboarding
Work closely with the Industry services team to ensure smooth communication related to obligation fulfillment with passes, e-marketing and invitations.
Provide a detailed post mortem
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
Job Grade 3
$28-30 per hour commensurate with experience.
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
May 19- September 19, 2025
WORK LOCATION:
Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
Weekly in-office requirements:
Minimum 2 days (November to May)
Minimum 3 days (June to October)
Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in arts management, administration or commerce considered an asset
Minimum of 3 years experience working with staff and delegating responsibilities
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Canadian and International Industries with ability to demonstrate
Working knowledge of domestic and international distribution, sales activities, national promotional agency networks, funding practices, co-productions and international film festivals and markets
Exceptional business writing skills with attention to detail, including but not limited e-marketing, social media messaging and proposals.
Demonstrative ability to listen to client feedback and adapt strategies for communication accordingly.
Ability to speak foreign language considered an asset
Ability to think critically and anticipate issues or opportunities and proactively propose solutions to address them.
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick but informed decisions
Strong accounting and financial acumen
Ability to deliver feedback and service with a high level of tact and diplomacy when working with clients.
Demonstrative accounting and negotiation experience required
Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
