Job Details

We are seeking a Manager of Indirect Tax who will play a pivotal role in providing indirect tax planning services and advice to clients. This role is perfect for someone with a desire to grow and gain diverse experience in the tax area.

Responsibilities

  • Review GST/HST procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Offer indirect tax planning services and advice to clients, helping them navigate complex tax issues.
  • Manage the engagement process from initial scheduling and planning through to client review and financial statement sign-off.
  • Meet with clients regarding financial statements, other business matters, and engagement issues.
  • Provide journal entry and account reconciliation guidance to clients.
  • Support personal and corporate tax filing for clients.
  • Discuss proposed time budgets with partners and assign engagement budgets to staff.
  • Identify new business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Manage a team of accountants, providing guidance and supervision.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum completion of a University Degree with a specialization in Accounting preferred.
  • Experience in reviewing GST/HST procedures.
  • Proven ability to offer indirect tax planning services and advice to clients.
  • Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience, ideally with some supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and assurance principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with audit, accounting, and tax software.
