Store Manager
We’re looking for a Store Manager to join our Healthy Planet family! The selected candidate will be able to wear multiple hats throughout the day and go above and beyond to ensure that the store is running smoothly. In addition to the general job duties, a store manager is required to be customer-service oriented, tech-savvy, calm under stressful circumstances, and most importantly, always willing to step up to the challenge to make Healthy Planet thrive and excel.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the store is operating optimally and report to Operations Manager in Head Office should an issue arise
- Maintain cleanliness of departments, manage HVAC, plumbing, security systems, pest control, and refrigeration units
- Maintain adequate inventory and stock based on monthly sales, organize products based on expiry dates and promotions, and order inventory using the ‘Just In Time’ system
- Implement theft reduction procedures and negotiate with suppliers and vendors
- Engage in marketing and sales promotions, create monthly sale flyers and merchandising displays
- Achieve sales objectives while managing budgets and tracking progress
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and brand representatives
- Oversee staff scheduling, ensure a safe and professional environment, deal with employee issues, recruit, orient, and train new staff, and perform staff evaluations
- Provide ongoing product and development training for employees
- Ensure compliance with policies, health and safety standards, and anti-discrimination practices
- Maintain technical operations including POS systems, internet, label printers, WiFi, security cameras, and alarm systems
- Manage daily financial operations, including cash tills, daily sales uploads, bank deposits, and balancing purchase-to-sales ratios
Requirements
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Degree or Diploma in Business Management or related field
- 5-7 years’ experience in retail store management and managing multiple store locations
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience creating and implementing training programs, negotiating, resolving conflicts, and managing people
- Knowledge of sales principles, distribution channels, business planning, and retail/wholesale sales techniques
- Ability to supervise and train staff effectively
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills
