Your Team

Join Flair’s In-Flight team, where safety, compliance, and service excellence shape every flight. As the Manager, In-Flight Training, you will lead a team of instructors and training coordinators dedicated to delivering high-quality, compliant training for our Flight Attendants. You will collaborate closely with Cabin Safety, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure training content meets all Transport Canada requirements. Reporting to the Director, In-Flight, you will be responsible for managing training delivery, supporting new initiatives, and maintaining the highest instructional standards across our network.

This role is based on-site at our Calgary (YYC), Edmonton (YEG), or Toronto (YYZ) office.

A Day In The Life

The duties of the Manager, In-Flight Training include:

  • Responsibility for the delegated CASS 725.07 (2)(d)(ii) responsibilities:
    • (B) Assuring a current and approved Flight Attendant training program (i.e., regulated suite of cabin safety training programs).
    • (H) Training of Flight Attendants in accordance with the approved training program.
  • Adhere strictly to the budget assigned by the Director, In-Flight, ensuring financial discipline and resource optimization.
  • Instructional design and delivery strategy, planning, execution, and overall program management of the In-Flight training curriculum.
  • Ongoing professional development of the instructional design and delivery teams.
  • Developing, communicating, and consistently applying all In-Flight training policies and processes.
  • Creating, documenting, and maintaining key In-Flight training processes in the In-Flight Operations Process and Procedures Manual.
  • Liaising with the Flight Attendant Manager for regulatory requirements relating to the delegation of CASS 725.07 (2)(d)(ii)(B) and (H).
  • When required, assisting with the creation and implementation of Corrective Action Plans in response to Transport Canada findings against training program/facilitation deficiencies.
  • Maintaining and administering the Instructor Certification Program.
  • Inspect training programs and training facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Oversee the In-Flight division of the Training Management System to ensure accurate and up-to-date training records and administration.
  • Actively contribute to the continual improvement philosophy of cabin safety by identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • Leading, coordinating, and participating in various In-Flight projects and initiatives, as assigned by the Director, In-Flight.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director, In-Flight.
What You Bring To The Role

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Education, Training and Development, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Current or previous Transport Canada approval as a designated Flight Attendant Manager under CASS 725.07 is a strong asset.
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in commercial aviation (705 operations), with practical knowledge of Company Operations Manuals, Flight Attendant Manuals, Training Programs, and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in developing, managing, and delivering regulatory cabin safety training programs, including curriculum design and instructor oversight.
    • Strong working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Canadian Aviation Standards (CASS), and TP12296, with proven application in a training and operational environment.
    • Experience preparing for and responding to Transport Canada audits, findings, and corrective action plans relating to flight attendant training.
    • Prior experience as a Flight Attendant, with preference given to candidates with Boeing 737 qualifications or equivalent narrow-body fleet experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, including coaching and performance management of training teams or instructional staff.
    • Experience with training systems, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Expert knowledge of TP12296, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), and Canadian Aviation Standards (CASS) as they pertain to Flight Attendant training and regulatory compliance.
    • Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills, with experience creating engaging, effective, and compliant training programs for adult learners in an aviation setting.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities, with a proven ability to motivate, coach, and manage performance in a dynamic training environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory or training requirements clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple projects.
    • Analytical mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying training gaps, and implementing data-driven solutions.
    • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and training platforms, such as Rise 360, Adobe Captivate, or Articulate Storyline.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), along with confidence in navigating LMS platforms, is preferred.
    • Adaptability and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and manage change in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
    • Ability to maintain a valid Passport to accommodate work travel.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
