Job summary

Flair Airlines is seeking a Manager, In-Flight Operations & Performance, to oversee day-to-day In-Flight operations from the Edmonton base. You will lead Supervisors, In-Flight Directors, and Flight Attendants to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations, while driving performance and employee engagement.

Responsibilities include monitoring KPIs, coordinating responses to irregular operations, and ensuring adherence to Transport Canada regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Operations Management, Safety, Compliance, Human Resources, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in airline leadership or supervisory roles is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety processes is required.

Your Team:

Join Flair’s In-Flight team, where operational leadership and workforce performance support safe, dependable, and efficient flight operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, In-Flight Operations, the Manager, In-Flight Operations & Performance provides leadership for cabin crew within an assigned base or region. This role is responsible for operational performance, employee engagement, workforce effectiveness, regulatory compliance, safety, and the consistent delivery of service standards. The Manager, In-Flight Operations & Performance, provides leadership to Supervisors, In-Flight Directors, and Flight Attendants, supporting day-to-day operational needs and employee performance. Working with teams across the organization, the role supports continuous improvement and ensures company policies, collective agreements, and regulatory requirements are consistently applied.

This is an on-site position based at our Edmonton, AB (YEG) office.

A Day in the Life:
  • Oversee the day-to-day In-Flight operation within the assigned base or region, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations while supporting operational reliability and service excellence.
  • Monitor operational performance, service delivery, crew reliability, and departmental key performance indicators, implementing action plans to address trends, operational risks, compliance concerns, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the In-Flight response to irregular operations and operational disruptions by providing operational leadership, coordinating recovery efforts, and collaborating with Operations Control Centre (OCC), Crew Scheduling, Airports, and other operational stakeholders.
  • Provide In-Flight Person on Call (IPOC) coverage, as assigned, exercising delegated authority to support operational decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Ensure the consistent application of company policies, collective agreement provisions, operational procedures, and applicable Transport Canada regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support operational projects, departmental initiatives, and continuous improvement activities that enhance safety, operational performance, employee engagement, and customer service.
  • Successfully complete and maintain all required Flight Attendant qualifications, certifications, and recurrent training, and actively support boarding, inflight operations, airport activities, and other operational assignments, as required, to maintain operational proficiency and support safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to Supervisors, In-Flight Directors, and Flight Attendants within the assigned base or region.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, professionalism, and service excellence through effective leadership, coaching, employee engagement, and recognition initiatives.
  • Lead employee performance management activities, including coaching, performance reviews, development planning, corrective action, workplace investigations, succession planning, and employee recognition.
  • Address employee concerns, workplace issues, and customer service matters in collaboration with Human Resources and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor attendance, reliability, productivity, and employee performance trends, partnering with the Manager, Workforce Performance & Attendance, to implement interventions, improvement plans, and follow-up actions.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partnering with Workforce Performance & Attendance, In-Flight Programs, Human Resources, Safety, Operations Control Centre (OCC), Crew Scheduling, Training, Airports, Commercial, and other departments to support operational excellence, employee experience, and departmental objectives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role:

  • Education:
    • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Operations Management, Safety, Compliance, Human Resources, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of previous experience as a Flight Attendant is required
    • Minimum of 2 – 4 years' experience in In-Flight operations, cabin crew leadership, or an airline operational leadership role is required.
    • Experience managing operational performance, employee engagement, attendance, coaching, and performance management within a fast-paced operational environment is required.
    • Experience conducting workplace investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee relations activities is required.
    • Experience working within a unionized environment and applying collective agreement provisions is preferred.
    • Experience supporting operational recovery, irregular operations, workforce planning, and day-to-day operational decision-making is considered an asset.
    • Working knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), and Transport Canada regulatory requirements is considered an asset.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of airline In-Flight operations and operational performance management.
    • Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities within a unionized operational environment.
    • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to manage employee performance, attendance, and workplace issues consistently and professionally.
    • Ability to analyze operational data, performance metrics, and workforce trends to support informed decision-making.
    • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing operational demands.
    • Ability to lead investigations and employee meetings with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and reporting applications.
  • Requirements:
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
    • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
