Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager (Statistical Reports) will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator on assigned projects, performing advanced biostatistical analyses and building statistical models using large databases, including national cohort data, hospital clinical data, and survey data from local, national, and international sources.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contribute to the design of new projects, assess feasibility of proposed statistical work, extract relevant data, and plan data analysis.
  2. Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for inaccuracies, and adjusting raw data as needed.
  3. Develop search strategies and conduct literature searches with the help of information specialists.
  4. Provide reliable literature, evidence, and references for proposals and publications.
  5. Perform systematic reviews and synthesize clinical research evidence.
  6. Screen retrieved literature and assess the quality of studies using appropriate tools.
  7. Develop data extraction forms and collect required information.
  8. Perform complex biostatistical analyses and build models on large databases, including national cohort, hospital, and survey data.
  9. Develop, manage, and validate SAS programs for analysis.
  10. Manage and maintain REDCap software for data collection.
  11. Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant relationships and differences.
  12. Identify data relationships and trends, considering factors that may influence research outcomes.
  13. Interpret project data and generate reports.
  14. Advise scientists on working with ICES staff, procedures, and clinical datasets.
  15. Demonstrate understanding of Ontario health databases such as ODB, CIHI, RPDB, and OHIP through collaboration.
  16. Oversee and contribute to methodological and analytic planning for various projects.
  17. Create PIA, PAW, and DCPs for projects.
  18. Review results with PIs and analysts; contribute to re-analysis plans if needed.
  19. Conduct Re-identification Risk Assessments to ensure privacy compliance.
  20. Check ICES requests on manuscripts and report publications.
  21. Perform statistical analyses, including meta-analyses, to summarize findings.
  22. Advise on data collection, storage, safety, and study design, including sample size and analysis plans.
  23. Perform quality control on safety and efficacy datasets and data displays.
  24. Perform additional statistical duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Degree: Post-secondary
