Manager, Human Resources and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader for the role of Manager, Human Resources and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) with business partner experience as well as previous experience leading initiatives that foster a workplace culture of equity diversity and inclusion.

This role will report into the Director, Human Resources and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

Human Resources

  • As part of the H.R. Business Partner team, you will support a dedicated business unit at Blue Ant:
  • Partner with the leadership of that team on talent management, development needs, organizational structure, resource planning, succession planning, performance management, compensation reviews and overall employee relations.
  • Working with the Learning and Development and Total Rewards leaders, leverage the resources available to provide strategic H.R. support for client group including identifying opportunities for mentoring, internships, and career pathing.
  • Communication with H.R. Coordinator on all information required for payroll administration
  • Recruitment process – Lead workforce planning for client group and liaise with recruiter and hiring manager to support the filling of vacant and new roles. On occasion, attend career fairs to connect with talent to support our goal of being a highly diverse workplace.
  • Rollout of All Ears engagement survey with client groups – continuing to build on strong organizational culture and implement employee engagement strategies.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

  • EDI strategy – Propose focus areas aligned with overall business objectives and organizational values.
  • Co-lead the Diversity Council and organize the activities and work of that group comprised of dedicated and committed Blue Ant employee volunteers.
  • Partnering with the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture, prepare reports for compliance purposes as required (e.g., accessibility, employment equity, etc.).
  • With support from the Manager, Employee Communications and Culture, prepare and deliver diversity report and updates to share with leadership and the Board.
  • Sustainability – participate as a member of the Committee.
  • Work with team members on assessing and revising policies, practices and procedures through an equity lens to remove barriers and promote inclusion.
  • Give input to the Learning and Development team on content development for workshops and learning sessions on topics such as inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, and anti-racism.
  • Working with Manager, Employee Communications and Culture, provide input on external events and screenings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Education or a related field – H.R. certification is an asset
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Human Resources and EDI or related roles, with at least two (2) years in a leadership or management capacity
  • Prior EDI leadership experience with a track record of designing and delivering programs and solutions to further drive an inclusive and equitable culture
  • Demonstrated experience where agility and an entrepreneurial mindset have been used
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and H.R. best practices
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and a strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, communication and organizational skills
