Job Description:
Job Overview:

The Manager HSES manages professional employees and is accountable for the performance and results of the HSES group. The role requires in-depth functional, business, industry, and leadership expertise.

The Manager HSES manages related teams (including remotely), sets organizational priorities, and allocates appropriate resources. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the HSES discipline.

Salary Range:

Min $150,000.00 - Max $192,000.00 (The range provided is for base salary only. In addition, McDermott offers a competitive total rewards package)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve the HSE management system in accordance with client, regulatory, and MDR requirements.
  • Provide project level assurance as to compliance with UNIFI, Intelex & COMET RCA requirements.
  • Prepare HSES audit/assessment plans and conduct audits/assessments.
  • Lead or participate as SME in key incident investigations and ensure incidents are appropriately managed via Intelex and COMET, overseeing corrective actions to be closed in a timely manner.
  • Support the development and management of HSES budgets, staffing requirements, and look-ahead schedules to manage project dynamics.
  • Manage HSES compliance strategy, business continuity, and contingency planning.
  • Oversee HSES effectiveness, strategies, and improvement programs.
  • Ensure all HSES personnel perform as required.
  • Maintain statistics and metrics, determine performance trends, and prepare reports.
  • Facilitate HAZIDs and other risk reviews.
  • Monitor and evaluate subcontractors’ performance, implementing remediation plans as required.
  • Provide HSES input to Management of Changes (MOCs) and Lessons Learned.
  • Liaise with fabrication facilities to ensure HSE risks are managed from yard, transportation, to site.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in HSES-related field plus 12+ years of HSE experience within the Energy Industry.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Trained and experienced ISO standards auditor (9001, 14001, or 45001).
  • Maintain key competencies associated with the HSES function.
  • Ability to work as a team member and as a team leader.
  • Extensive experience with technical activities, including on- and offshore operations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of local and international HSE laws, regulations, and norms.
