Job description
Overview

Manager, HR and Operations at Aequilibrium (AEQ). We craft remarkable digital experiences by combining strategy, experience design, and technology implementation services. We work with various industries, including financial institutions—particularly credit unions—in Canada and the US, to deliver next-generation platforms powered by digital banking systems, Content Management Systems (CMS), and immersive technologies such as XR and AI. We are seeking a hands-on Manager of HR and Operations to scale our growing consulting and digital delivery teams with top-tier talent. You are an experienced HR generalist who excels in recruiting for multidisciplinary tech roles, with background in Canadian tech professional services companies and experience working with client stakeholders in regulated industries such as financial services. You are also skilled in Operations, understanding the delivery team skill sets and availability, and working with the executive team to staff upcoming projects to minimize benching.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end technical recruitment for contract and full-time roles within AEQ’s delivery teams across Canada and LATAM (when required). Work closely with internal hiring managers and client stakeholders to gather role requirements, align on hiring processes, and provide feedback to candidates. Source and build strong candidate pipelines through direct outreach, LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and strategic sourcing campaigns
  • Experience with Operations, working with the executive team to staff existing and upcoming projects, creating the balance between seniors and juniors, full-time and contractors, to manage workload fluctuations in a tech agency, maximize chargeability, and minimize bench. Partner with AEQ leadership to track hiring, utilization, and chargeability metrics, optimize pipeline conversion, and reduce time-to-fill for niche roles
  • As an HR Generalist, stay informed about the team's sentiment and career goals, as well as talent market trends, compensation benchmarks, and contribute to a positive culture and teamwork for fully remote teams

Required Experience

  • Five+ years of experience in HR, Recruitment, and Operations with Canadian tech companies in consulting, digital agencies, or professional services environments. Deep understanding of client-involved hiring processes, including stakeholder interviews and external approvals
  • Proven success in recruiting for tech roles (such as project/program manager, business analyst/product owner, UI/UX designer, developer, solution architect, and automation tester) related to financial services, including:
    • Digital banking platforms include Forge, VeriPark, Temenos, and Backbase
    • Engineering roles involving CMS platforms like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, or OpenText
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with the executive team to get, keep, and grow top talent and build a world-class tech company

Bonus Points

  • Client Management, including capturing requirements, presenting shortlists, and incorporating feedback. Getting periodic feedback on the team and individual performance. Proactively identifying issues and working with the account leads and execs to remove friction, keep high scores for customer satisfaction (NPS) and team satisfaction (TeamSat).
  • Background in operations or recruiting operations within a fully remote digital agency, with staff in Canada and abroad
  • Exposure to hiring for AI, as well as immersive tech roles related to VR, AR, and XR
