JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Manager, HR Analytics.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workforce Analytics & Reporting, the Manager, HR Analytics will collaborate with the Workforce Analytics team, and various stakeholders, subject matter experts, and business leaders across OPG to influence key business priorities, strategic workforce planning initiatives, and labour relations strategies by ensuring workforce analytics and data are considered in resourcing decisions for current and future business needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop workforce models and analytical tools as part of OPG's strategic workforce planning initiatives and act as a key contributor to OPG’s workforce planning processes, ensuring integration with business planning and operational staffing plans;
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams to address complex people resources issues that require new approaches, complex solutions, expertise, and knowledge of human resources data, information systems, and processes;
  • Conduct statistical analysis and develop algorithms for workforce models to support strategic people resource decisions, supporting deliverables in: corporate strategy, labour relations, succession planning, financial planning, and regulatory/external reporting;
  • Manage and maintain specialized classifications (e.g., job code groupings, standard rate codes) used for human capital analysis, business planning, labour relations grievance tracking, and employment equity reporting;
  • Develop performance measures and monitoring tools to support forecasting, reporting, and analysis of key measurements, trends, and benchmarks, aiding the business in making better employee-related decisions and demonstrating ROI of HR initiatives;
  • Support management in negotiations with labour unions and assist in resolving grievances, arbitrations, and other labour relations challenges;
  • Support collective bargaining by assessing impacts of bargaining agendas and providing recommendations to guide decision-makers;
  • Implement changes to reporting systems and employee information following collective agreements and settlement outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in a technical/data analytics role. Experience in software development, data mining, data analytics, data management, or programming is required;
  • Experience with deep-dive analytics, predictive modeling, or algorithms, including programming languages such as Java, Python, R, DAX, HTML, CSS;
  • Experience with database systems like MySQL, Oracle, Azure, and knowledge of data management and reporting (ETL);
  • Experience with SAS, ETL, data processing, and database programming;
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Access, and Power BI;
  • Experience with HR systems such as SAP, SAP BW, SuccessFactors, etc.;
  • Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and ability to work independently;
  • Energetic, self-motivated, with a passion for success, and capable of handling complex situations;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, consultation, and presentation skills.

This position is moving to OPG Corporate Headquarters: In Summer 2025, OPG will move to 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, Ontario. Until then, the position will be based in Bowmanville, ON.
