Zone: Eastern Rural ZoneLocation: Burin Peninsula Health Care CentreDivision ManagerChildren's and Women's Health ProgramPermanent, Full-Time09941POSHours: 70 bi-weekly (8-hour days; on call)Salary: HL-22 (76,531.00 - $99,481.20 annually)Competition Number: VAC0010954Posted Date: 2025-05-05Closing Date: Open until filledJob SummaryThis Division is accountable for managing the Perioperative Program, Endoscopy, Obstetrical and Gynecological unit at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre.The Division Manager directs staff within areas of accountability; encourages professional development activities; completes regular performance evaluations; participates in the recruitment process and ensures fair and consistent application of the collective agreement. The position establishes staffing requirements and monitor and interpret staff utilization statistics. The position establishes performance expectations through feedback and guidance for the department and individual employees. The Division Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating key directions, objectives, and strategies, quality and risk initiatives, and safety initiatives for patients and staff in a dynamic environment.The Manager will work within NL Health Services' Leadership Framework with accountabilities to engage others and lead self, achieve results, develop coalitions and implement systems transformations within the assigned areas of responsibility. These include working within the Divisions lines of business, fiscal and resource stewardship, managing and developing staff, effective communication, quality and risk management and health workplace management.Job QualificationsEducationBaccalaureate Degree in a health-related discipline is required.Master's Degree is preferred.ExperienceA minimum of five years of acute care experience within the last seven is required.Previous management experience is required.Acute care experience in Endoscopy, Obstetrics, Gynecology or Perioperative would be an asset.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Knowledge of issues related to Endoscopy, Obstetrics, Gynecology or Perioperative.Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation.Knowledge of quality improvement and project management.Knowledge of staff and patient safety initiatives.Demonstrated conflict management skills.Demonstrated strong decision making, interpersonal, leadership and communications skills.Demonstrated ability to manage and foster positive interpersonal relationships with various stakeholders.Demonstrated financial stewardship.Ability to manage change and continuous improvement.OtherCurrent registration with a professional association.A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
