Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the health and safety strategy to ensure a safe workplace, meeting regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide advice to senior leaders on emerging trends, legislative changes, and future health and safety initiatives.
  • Lead training sessions for management, supervisors, and Joint Health and Safety Committee members.
  • Coordinate all health and safety training across the organization.
  • Mentor and support joint occupational health and safety committees.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and prevention measures.
  • Manage activities related to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, including incident investigations and return-to-work programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identifications, implementing proactive solutions.
  • Develop and monitor safety performance indicators.
Qualifications and Experience
  • University degree or certification in occupational health and safety.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in retail, distribution, or supply chain safety roles.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and hazard management.
  • Experience in incident investigation and safety program development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English / French is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
