Description

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

We are seeking a "retail-first" marketing leader to spearhead our channel growth strategy for TELUS, Koodo, and Mobile Klinik. You will lead a high‑performing, specialized team of 4‑5, acting as the central engine for driving performance across our entire retail footprint.

This is a critical role that bridges our digital marketing efforts with our physical store success. We need a digitally savvy people manager who can build a cohesive strategy, develop their team, and drive measurable growth in store traffic, online leads, and website visits. You will be the key integrator, building powerful connections with internal partners (like Base Comms, Web/Digital, MarComm and Partnerships) to ensure our retail channels thrive.

Here’s how

  • Lead, Mentor & Empower: You will manage and develop a diverse team of experts across paid Performance Marketing, SEO, Retail Merchandising, and MarComm. Your top priority is to foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Develop the Retail Growth Strategy: You’ll build and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy focused on driving full‑funnel growth, setting clear KPIs for store traffic, online lead generation, and website visits for all three brands.
  • Drive Full‑Funnel Performance: You’ll guide the Sr. Performance Manager in optimizing all paid and organic channels, ensuring we are efficiently acquiring online leads and driving customers to our stores.
  • Champion our Digital & Local Presence: You’ll oversee our Sr. SEO Manager to build our digital architecture and win in local search, mastering Google Business Profile processes (with tools like Uberall) to drive organic traffic.
  • Own In‑Store & GTM Execution: You’ll lead your team's MarComm and Merchandising primes to deliver best‑in‑class GTM planning, creative, in‑store digital messaging, and "scrappy" merchandising that makes an impact.
  • Deliver Actionable Insights: You’ll be responsible for the weekly performance review process, guiding your team to distill complex data into clear, compelling stories and actionable insights for leadership.
  • Build Powerful Connections: You will be the primary liaison, building strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams (Web/Digital, Partnerships, TELUS MarComm) to ensure your retail growth strategy is aligned and amplified.
  • Manage Local Social Engagement: You will guide your team's management of our organic social media channels, focusing on comment management and community engagement to build a positive local presence.
  • Data Analysis & Optimization: Conduct data analysis to develop optimization recommendations & to inform future campaign development.
Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle if…

  • Experienced People Leader: You have proven experience (3‑5+ years) in building, mentoring, and growing high‑performing, engaged marketing teams. This isn’t your first management role.
  • Digital Marketing Expert: You have a deep, hands‑on understanding of the full‑funnel digital ecosystem, including paid media (Social, SEM), SEO/SEM, local (GBP), and social media.
  • Natural Collaborator & Communicator: You’re known for building strong relationships, navigating a large organization, and influencing stakeholders. You can present complex data and strategies clearly to an executive audience.
  • Highly Data‑Driven: You are deeply analytical and comfortable guiding a team to dig into performance data (leads, traffic, appointments, web visits) to find insights, measure ROI, and pivot strategies effectively.
  • Proactive Driver: You have a strong sense of ownership and thrive in a target‑driven environment, proactively pushing forward complex projects and finding solutions.
  • Strong understanding of business, eCommerce & UX/UI fundamentals.
  • You thrive in a target‑driven environment through your proactivity, organization, innovation, and enthusiasm.

Great‑to‑haves

  • Experience in telecommunications or a multi‑location retail business.
  • Direct experience with local SEO/Google Business Profile management and tools (e.g., Uberall).
  • Agency or multi‑brand management experience.
  • Lead generation/prospecting strategy.
  • CRM & SaaS marketing experience.
