WE’RE LOOKING FOR A MANAGER, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND CORPORATE AFFAIRS

LOCATION : OTTAWA, ON

Position Summary

The Manager, Government Relations and Corporate Affairs is responsible for coordinating the day to day operations of government relations activities for AHCA as well as the delivery of government relations strategies and initiatives to support the decision making of AHCA.

Primary Position Responsibilities

Government Relations and Corporate Affairs

Provide proactive support for current and upcoming sales campaigns, with a focus on FACT.

Ensure the President is apprised of government relations issues and activities on an ongoing basis.

Oversees the development and management of a contact management system for activities related to government relations for outreach and engagement programs.

Develop, conduct and manage a comprehensive government relations program designed to create and maintain a favourable image of Airbus Helicopters and government stakeholders.

Ensure plans are fully developed and executed for all Airbus Helicopters Canada activities related to governmental and political activities.

Manage the delivery of government relations strategies and initiatives to support the decision-making of AHCA.

Manage the development and maintenance of key government relationships, meetings and events.

Conduct ongoing research and information-gathering with regards to governments and political environments.

Participates with the President in regular meetings with the aim to provide updates of the global situation of AHCA.

Direct, develop and implement strategies for businesses, governments and other organizations on behalf of AHCA to market new initiatives for business diversification.

Act as the primary focal point and interface with lobbying firms.

Position Requirements

Education

University Degree in Public Relations, Business Administration or related field.

Experience

5 years’ of related experience, preferably in government relations / public relations.

Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship building.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities

Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.

Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, research and organizational skills.

Able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.

Superior written and spoken communications skills; understanding of news media operations; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to maintain effective relationships / communication with internal and external customers, excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

Internal and commercial systems proficiency required for the position. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office & Google Suite Applications.

Communication Skills

This position requires exceptional written and spoken communications skills in English, suitable for speaking on the record on behalf of the company to trade and government organizations.

French language skills preferred to comply with the dual-language requirements of parts of Canada.
