As a member of the Stakeholder and Industry Relations management team, the Manager, Government and Media Relations will participate in wide-ranging and varied departmental and team projects. The Manager will be responsible for developing and executing government relations strategies and plans, monitoring relevant issues and recommending responses and risk mitigation measures, as well as overseeing the Company’s media relations function. The Manager will collaborate with the Director, Stakeholder and Industry Relations, business partners, and industry stakeholders to design and implement advocacy initiatives and engage elected officials in support of the company’s strategic priorities. The Manager will lead the company’s broader government relations efforts, including issues monitoring, drafting white papers, briefing materials, and speaking notes for senior leaders; and assisting with position and strategy development on emerging issues, legislation, and government/parliamentary/committee work – while actively engaging with and building relationships with elected and non-elected government officials.Job Description
