Overview

Our Global Mobility Services team specializes in providing compliance and consulting services to organizations with international workforces with respect to Canadian and foreign personal income taxes, cross border payroll, social security taxes, compensation design, policy framework, pension and other aspects. We design sophisticated tax planning and compensation strategies to help such companies and their employees manage their tax liabilities and other expenses of operating in the global business environment.

As part of our diverse and skilled group, you will be instrumental in delivering Canadian and US tax compliance and advisory services. This role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, fostering strong relationships, and applying your expertise in cross-border tax issues to deliver innovative solutions that enhance our clients’ operations. You will also be responsible for a variety of technical, administrative, and support functions with regards to the management of our clients’ expatriate tax programs. The ideal candidate enjoys continuous learning and working in a team to deliver exceptional client service.

What You Will Do
  • Lead client engagements and manage relationships to resolve intricate tax technical challenges
  • International assignment program management - manage all aspects of a client engagement
  • Employ your deep understanding of global mobility taxation to provide valuable advisory services, tailored to client needs.
  • Tax compliance management - individual tax returns, tax projections, tax equalizations, tax briefings with assignees, cross-border (shadow) payroll
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness
  • Explore and implement technology-driven solutions to improve efficiency and compliance, including leveraging generative artificial intelligence.
  • Support the development of staff through mentorship, focusing on their career growth and ongoing learning.

What You Bring To The Role
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a public accounting firm specializing in personal Canadian tax and/or expertise in cross-border payroll matters. Knowledge in US Tax is an asset but not a pre-requisite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of duties
  • Emphasis on quality and adds value to their client offerings and services
  • Strong analytical, project management and organizational skill
  • Excellent computer skills - Excel experience is required

  • Able to provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions.
KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $85,500 to $128,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
