Job Description:

TD Wealth National Office Governance & Control (G&C) team partners with the Wealth businesses to design, implement, maintain, and monitor effective internal controls and ensure business activities remain within TD Bank's risk appetite and comply with external regulatory requirements.

The team is responsible for ensuring timely and consistent implementation - across all Wealth Canada businesses - of all risk, control and governance programs, initiatives, policies, and strategic business projects. The Wealth Shared Services G&C team acts as the primary contact for the Wealth Canada businesses, working closely with subject matter experts from each Wealth Canada business line. The team works together with the business leaders to implement Wealth-wide G&C methodologies, policy frameworks, standards and practices and are key members of enterprise projects / programs requiring Wealth representation.

We operate in a hybrid model, meaning in the office two days a week and have flexibility to work remotely (if you choose) for the remainder week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Wealth Governance & Control, this position will be primarily responsible for supporting the TD Wealth businesses with their adherence to TD Enterprise policies, regulatory and legal requirements, and Operational Risk Management programs. The position is expected to work with all TD Wealth Canada businesses and Wealth Control Partners to support the overall delivery of the Wealth Road to Strong (RTS) workstreams (e.g.: AML, Data Management, Fraud & Insider, etc.). We are looking for a self-motivated and innovative individual who excels in a fast paced and agile work environment and exemplifies the TD Shared Commitments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination of Wealth's Road to Strong Program - representing Wealth on enterprise workstreams and coordination of Wealth work efforts to meet program requirements.
  • Work closely with the other Wealth stakeholders supporting the Road to Strong initiative, assessing risk and control attributes, and helping Wealth achieve target operating model and regulatory expectations.
  • Support the execution of various AML BAU activities, working with the AML Advisory team to review, challenge, and document plan to remediate any gaps.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement robust policies and procedures to support TD Wealth while promoting a sustained culture of integrity and ethics.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of processes and controls, identify gaps, and drive initiatives to strengthen governance and controls.
  • Provide program/project administration support - schedule stakeholder meetings, monitor and track progress.
  • Effectively manage ad-hoc projects or tasks of varying complexities within established deadlines.
  • Foster an environment and culture of risk management and compliance that encourages innovation, process improvement, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism.
  • Keep Senior Management informed on the status/progress of key deliverables and/or other relevant information related to ongoing responsibilities.
  • Cross train on cross-functional activities within your group, to collaborate and support the achievement of the group's holistic outcomes.
  • Maintain adequate governance documentation, procedures, and retain records for audit readiness.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Experience/Education:
  • Knowledge of the Wealth businesses, processes, systems, and controls.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience in writing policy, procedures and/or executive reporting, and the ability to communicate information and key messages in a clear and compelling way to suit different audiences.
  • Knowledge of change management principles, industry standards and methodologies, project management, organizational practices, and business transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, effectively interact, influence, and motivate individuals at all levels of the organization to make an impact.
  • Risk, Audit, and/or Compliance and AML experience is considered an asset.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to effectively manage work under tight timelines and changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful team player with high energy and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable leading through transformational change and recognized as a champion for continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional personal integrity to manage access to sensitive information.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • University degree is considered an asset.
  • Experience as a people leader focused on a strong coaching culture, talent development and employee experience through recognition.
