What is the opportunity?

Join RBC’s newly established Funds Transfer Pricing Center of Excellence within the Enterprise Performance Management team where you will provide value-added strategic financial advice to senior leadership in a fast paced, high-profile group.

The FTP COE and Enterprise Performance Management team works with a broad group of Finance and Business Partners to ensure successful implementation of FTP, enabling consistent and reliable financial results that influence decision making. We enable early identification of opportunities and issues and make actionable strategic recommendations to the business and CFO that supports long-term bank performance.

You will work closely with leaders across all platforms to enhance FTP and Performance Management capabilities and drive continuous improvement in these areas. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with colleagues across a diverse set of stakeholders including RBC’s Business Segments, Corporate Treasury Financial Resource Optimization, and Group Risk Management.

You will deliver high quality work that is produced efficiently within tight timelines. You will support key RBC enterprise priorities while establishing, monitoring, and maintaining effective plans and controls to ensure that they are completed on time. You will work closely with and support the Senior Director, FTP Transformation, as well as the broader Enterprise Performance Management team, in successfully delivering on a challenging portfolio of projects and initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Drive change across our U.S. Region by assisting with the development of standardized FTP reporting at City National Bank, RBC Capital Markets, RBC Wealth Management, and RBC Bank USA
  • Build and maintain product profitability reports across multiple products and businesses that identify and communicate trends in drivers of business performance
  • Strengthen your understanding of interest rate risk, liquidity, and asset liability management at one of the largest and most complex global financial institutions
  • Document existing system processes related to FTP and maintain documentation as recommended changes and enhancements are made
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing FTP methodologies, process, and systems
  • Assist in the analysis and development of proposed solutions for the FTP mechanisms across the enterprise for new and existing business processes, working closely with business segment platforms and Corporate Treasury
  • Perform testing and validation for system rule changes and enhancements to ensure accuracy and performance impact
  • Own ad hoc projects as required by the CFO, and SVP and Head of Investor Relations and Enterprise Performance Management

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in business/accounting/finance) and 2+ years of relevant finance experience; or closely related functional experience
  • Solid multi-tasking capabilities, with the ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
  • Strong attention-to-detail, with the ability to question and challenge information for integrity
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Cognos TM1
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver insightful ad hoc requests on a short notice

Nice to Have

  • Professional Designations: CPA, CA, CMA (or international equivalent); CFA
  • Proven record in successfully influencing and implementing change
  • Strong understanding of business drivers of performance and related outcome measures
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment supporting Senior leaders
  • Superior financial modelling skills
