Job description

Area of Interest: Advisory services, Commercial banking

The Manager of Financing Solutions will collaborate closely with the commercial underwriting team. You will serve as a coach, mentor, and expert advisor, recommending financial strategies that address the complex needs of commercial clients across all financing requirements. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the credit writing team to support branch financial goals by assessing credit applications, underwriting, and approving deals for new and existing clients, balancing risk and reward in line with the Bank’s risk appetite, while driving operational improvements and maintaining consistent workflows.
  2. Serving as a credit subject matter expert, staying informed on industry and market trends, and structuring credit accordingly.
  3. Assisting clients in achieving their business objectives by proposing suitable financial strategies and a mix of financing products.
  4. Supporting the team in identifying comprehensive solutions and actively referring clients to other lines of business to establish the Bank as their primary financial partner.
  5. Identifying risks and making recommendations to the credit committee following Bank policies.
  6. Demonstrating collaboration and actively contributing to your business unit's objectives.

More specifically, your role involves:

  1. Participating in initial meetings and presenting financing proposals to medium and large private enterprises.
  2. Preparing files, including due diligence, financial analysis, and structuring financing.
  3. Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders such as credit committees, clients, legal and financial advisors, and syndication departments.
  4. Monitoring and renewing existing credits actively.
  5. Using credit risk and profitability tools to ensure compliance with policies and standards.

You will be part of the Calgary Banking Center team, reporting to a Senior Manager. Our team values operational excellence and customer satisfaction, offering diverse expertise and experiences to support your development.

Basic requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10 years’ relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 7 years’ relevant experience.
  • Financial analysis experience, including financial statements and projections.
  • Experience in commercial credit and knowledge of the Commercial Banking sector.
  • Strong credit adjudication skills, risk mitigation strategies, and leadership capabilities.
