Our client is looking for a Manager of Financial Reporting to join their team in Edmonton. The first project you would be responsible for is the departmental transition from ASPE to IFRS. The ideal candidate will oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide insights to support strategic decisions. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and leadership ability.

Your Responsibilities :

• Provide expert input on IFRS and stay current on standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including SEC reporting if applicable.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the financial reporting team.
• Improve financial reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Utilize technology to streamline reporting and analysis.
• Maintain documentation for financial reporting processes and controls.
• Collaborate with finance, treasury, and tax departments.
• Provide clear reports to senior management and the board.
• Serve as a point of contact for reporting queries.

Your Strengths :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 5-7 years of financial reporting experience, ideally in public companies or accounting firms.
• Experience managing teams and reporting processes.
• Strong IFRS knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
