Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting while helping senior leaders make informed decisions about operations, capital, cash flow, and business performance.

Qualifications

• CPA or CFA designation and Canadian eligibility.
• 5+ years in budgeting, forecasting, FP&A and cost reporting.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting tools.
• Mining industry experience preferred.
• Strong modelling, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget, quarterly forecast, and rolling 12-month forecast processes.
• Own and maintain the consolidated corporate financial model across the business.
• Partner with finance, mine planning, and site finance teams to connect production plans with financial results.
• Build financial models and sensitivity analyses for cash flow, commodity prices, and capital decisions.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reporting with commentary on performance drivers and risks.
• Support monthly Board reporting with relevant metrics.
• Improve FP&A processes and SAP analytics capabilities.

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to provide financial clarity, discipline, and insight across a growing mining organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting while helping senior leaders make informed decisions about operations, capital, cash flow, and business performance.

This is a fully remote position based from a home office, with occasional meetings in downtown Vancouver and potential quarterly travel to Peru and Chile.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and rolling 12-month forecast processes.
• Own and maintain the consolidated corporate financial model, integrating operational and financial data across the business.
• Partner with finance, accounting, mine planning, and site finance teams to connect production plans, sales, operating costs, capital spending, and financial results.
• Build financial models and sensitivity analyses to assess cash flow, production profiles, commodity prices, input costs, and capital investment decisions.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reporting and provide clear commentary on performance drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the preparation of monthly Board reporting with relevant financial and operational metrics.
• Work with the financial reporting team on quarterly MD&A, including analysis of mine operating results and capital expenditures.
• Maintain weekly cash flow and accounts payable forecasts, working closely with operations and construction teams to understand cash requirements.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide practical recommendations to management.
• Improve planning and budgeting capabilities within SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Use data analytics and financial systems to automate processes, improve data quality, and reduce manual reporting.
• Help strengthen FP&A processes, controls, and reporting as the organization evolves.

Requirements:

• Canadian CPA or CFA designation.
• 5+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and complex cost reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Experience supporting public company reporting; mining experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong financial modelling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other SAP analytics tools is an asset.
• Spanish language skills are an asset, or willingness to take Spanish lessons.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment and collaborating with teams across multiple locations.

Remuneration:

• $130,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus
