We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Financial Operations team within an integrated and matrixed design firm, working directly with the Director of Financial Operations. This role will play a critical part in supporting the firm's financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes, with a focus on project performance, business unit profitability, and executive-level reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, an understanding of project-based financials, and experience leveraging data visualization tools like Power BI.


How you'll make a difference:
  • Support the development of quarterly Board reporting packages, including financial summaries, performance commentary, and visual dashboards.
  • Ensure data accuracy, clarity, and alignment of financial insights with business strategy and project delivery outcomes.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for key business units and market sectors, incorporating project-level metrics and KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Leads/Partners to analyze performance and inform business decisions.
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to track key metrics such as revenue forecasting, resource planning, project margins, and variance analysis.
  • Continuously refine visualizations to improve accessibility and relevance for end users across Finance, Disciplines, and Management teams.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes, integrating input from Department heads, Partners in Charge, and other project leads.
  • Perform variance analysis and scenario modeling to support project planning and long-term financial strategy.
  • Streamline reporting processes and enhance the integrity and automation of financial data across platforms.
  • Champion best practices in data governance and financial reporting across the firm.
  • Adhoc support to the Director of Financial Operations
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA, CFA, or MBA considered an asset
  • 5-7 years of experience in FP&A or financial analysis, ideally within an Architecture and Engineering practice, professional services, or a project-based firm.
  • Strong understanding of full cycle accounting and project financials, including revenue recognition, revenue forecasting, utilization, and margin and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI for building and maintaining Dashboards
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of tools, experience with working in BST, or other ERP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.
