Job description

The opportunity

The Finance and Operations Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day functions of the Team, reporting to the Director of Partnership Operations and supervising three colleagues. In this role you will oversee all recurring accounting and operations processes, implement internal controls, manage and grow team members, complete relevant administrative tasks, and support executives on special projects. High attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.

Partnership Operations provides support to EY Canada’s senior leaders across partner talent and financial life cycles, solving complex business issues from strategy to implementation.

Your key responsibilities
  • Assist the Director in team management by coaching, training, and task assignment, while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee monthly and year‑end processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Generate and deliver accurate, timely reports and presentations that communicate key insights for data‑driven decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal reporting requirements and related tax filings, abiding by laws and regulations.
  • Respond to accounting and general inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Maintain accounting and partnership files and records, identifying and implementing operational improvements.
  • Support executives on special projects for internal and external stakeholders, including forecasting, reporting, and modelling data, and identify processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead change management initiatives, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Professional accounting designation – CPA required.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive financial management experience.
  • Experience in people management, coaching, and delegating tasks within a complex organisation.
  • Effective time‑management and flexibility to handle shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Compliance with all confidentiality policies of the Firm and applicable regulatory authorities.
  • This position is fully on‑site, located in the Toronto office.

Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
