Job Description:

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing the Accounting and Administrative functions for the business unit, including preparing and reviewing financial reports, overseeing day-to-day transaction processing, and leading a team of Accounting and Administrative Staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the Accounting and Administrative function with the business including managing a team of financial analysts and administrative staff.
  • Reports current and expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
  • Oversees the preparation of internal financial reports, including derivative accounting and operational analysis, to support decision making in a manner that aids management’s understanding of current and future results, as well as to support month-end financial reporting.
  • Assists with the budget and forecasting process for the business unit.
  • Lead new projects and process improvement initiatives, including establishing and maintaining policies, controls and procedures for the business.
  • Trusted individual to review and approve company payments and invoices.
  • Selects, trains, develops and motivates the team of financial analysts and administrative staff.

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, a business plan and a control environment, and receives guidance form senior manager and business unit leaders.
  • Understands risk management and hedging policies (currency and commodity hedging), and applies this knowledge to day-to-day transactions and financial reporting.
  • Understands the control environment, and assists with internal and external audits as it relates to grain and derivative accounting.
  • Manages, coaches and trains a team, and provides technical guidance to employees and peers.
  • Is accountable for the performance and results of a team.
  • Adapts plans and priorities to address resource and operations challenges.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in finance, economics or accounting; CPA is preferred.
  • 5-7 year’s relevant experience required.
  • Public accounting work experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer

  • May require travel up to 10%

  • In-office position
