Job summary

Job description

Manager, Fabrication role at CDN

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full‑service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

The role ensures company objectives are met by securing and allocating resources, establishing and communicating processes, and ensuring adherence to protocols. This role drives process improvements to reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of people management and development of direct reports.
  • Oversee the manufacturing departments responsible for the construction, wiring and testing of control panels in accordance with client’s requests and engineered drawings.
  • Monitor costs and manage budgets for the department(s) under scope of responsibility.
  • Identify, analyze, and implement cost reduction strategies that contribute to efficient and profitable operations.
  • Develop systems to evaluate, score, and implement manufacturing business system process improvements.
  • Proactively examine possible opportunities while working closely with the leadership team to ensure all areas of improved growth can be attained.
  • Maintain and enhance key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as major customers and vendors.
  • Network within the marketplace to attract new business and diversify the customer base; communicate results to Business Development team for follow up.
  • Manage manufacturing employees and other staff; recommend optimal staffing levels and schedules.
  • Identify and develop key talent including through performance objectives and talent assessments.
  • Review daily job tickets and weekly timesheets.
  • Participate in weekly WIP and AR/AP meetings to drive efficiencies and meet targets in this area.
  • Understand, implement, and always enforce the company’s safety and environmental programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Manufacturing experience with demonstrated success with continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use time effectively to set action plans to achieve business targets.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Related college diploma, formal certification as an electrical journeyman and typically 5+ years of experience in Automation, Programming and Panel Assembly; or combination of formal education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a people leadership role.
