Manager, ERP Development , Information Technology

Salary: $ 94,005 - $ 117,188 per year

Reporting to the Director, Information Management & Systems., the Manager, ERP Development oversees the maintenance, configuration, and strategic enhancement of the university's ERP systems and digital platforms. This role directs web and mobile development initiatives and manages cross-functional project teams to ensure technological alignment with Laurentian’s tricultural mandate and operational requirements.

  • Oversees the maintenance, configuration, and continuous improvement of the Colleague ERP system to support Finance, HR, and Student Records.
  • Conducts system audits to maintain data integrity and leads upgrades to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with university departments to customize ERP modules and optimizes workflows to align with institutional goals.

Web and Mobile Application Development:

  • Leads the design, development, and deployment of web and mobile applications to enhance user experiences for students and faculty.
  • Manages the myLaurentian portals and integrates digital platforms with campus systems including building automation and printing services.
  • Devises technical strategies for front-end and back-end development to ensure mobile responsiveness, security, and performance.

Project Leadership and Coordination:

  • Directs multiple high-impact projects by setting priorities based on strategic importance and institutional needs.
  • Manages cross-functional teams and external consultancies using Agile methodologies to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Allocates resources effectively and mentors technical team members to foster professional growth and project success.

Stakeholder Consultation and Support:

  • Communicates with senior leadership and departmental managers to translate administrative needs into technical solutions.
  • Coordinates the delivery of user training and develops support materials to facilitate the adoption of new systems.
  • Evaluates feedback from end-users to drive continuous system improvements and resolve technical impediments.

Vendor and Compliance Management

  • Represents the university as the primary liaison with external software vendors and specialized development companies.
  • Monitors system compliance with data protection laws, accessibility standards, and requirements from governing agencies such as MTCU.
  • Negotiates contracts and manages service agreements to ensure external partnerships maintain high standards of quality.

  • Perform other duties within the professional scope and skill level of the position, in full compliance with applicable legislation, university policies, and collective agreements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) to eight(8) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with collective agreements / unionized environment.
  • Expertise in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and report on departmental budgets, including forecasting future financial needs and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of best practices for securing a large-scale network, protecting sensitive data (e.g., student records, research data, financial information), and responding to security incidents.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain servers and operating systems to ensure stable, secure, and high-performing environments for various university services.
  • Understanding of the unique requirements for IT systems that support academic functions (e.g., learning platforms, research computing) and administrative operations (e.g., admissions, HR, finance).
  • Experience in managing and integrating cloud-based services and infrastructure to support university-wide operations and remote learning.
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.
