Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance based incentive, applicable to position) :

$117,887 - $159,495 Leader with expertise at the intersection of finance and sustainability needed

Sustainability is about meeting today’s needs while preserving the ability of future generations to meet theirs – a principle that aligns with the values of FCC and our customers.
Your team will help lending teams get deals done and add value to their customers by applying a sustainability lens – identifying both opportunities and risks – and building the capacity of peers and leaders to do the same.

What you’ll do:

  • Support other business units in successfully integrating sustainability in their business processes
  • Oversee the assessment of non-credit risks (environmental and social) of each business and recommend loan structures from a first-line perspective
  • Assess each deal’s alignment with FCC’s strategy and ability to drive impact in the Canadian agriculture and food industry
  • Effectively balance rigour and efficiency to draft submissions for account reviews, compliance monitoring and eligibility rulings that support holistic decision-making
  • Take on a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities during the transaction origination, analysis, execution and asset management stages and act a liaison between Credit and other internal teams
  • Play a key role in the evolution and continuous improvement of FCC’s policies, practices and processes for Strategic Finance as well as sustainability integration across the organization
  • Interact with key external industry players active in embedding sustainability in the agriculture production and agriculture transformation sectors, as well as other FCC business units to successfully integrate sustainability into their business processes
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a customer, employee and industry lens is used to inform the development of FCC’s sustainability-related corporate strategy, strategic objectives and initiatives, and corporate plan

What we’re looking for:

  • Leader with a proven collaboration focus
  • Strong team player who builds relationships
  • Multi-tasker able to manage several projects at a time
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity about the agriculture industry

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, finance, agriculture or a related field and at least eight years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience applying sustainability in a practical, tangible and impactful way – preferably at a financial institution or at an organization within the agriculture and food industry
  • Experience integrating the consideration of non-credit risk factors and sustainability-related opportunities into lending processes, customer interactions and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders
  • A graduate degree and/or relevant certifications (SASB, CFA, CBV, CFA ESG, GARP SCR, etc.) are an asset
