Manager, Enterprise Platforms

We’re seeking a motivated and energetic proven Enterprise Platforms Manager to join our progressive Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Enterprise Platforms Manager drives the strategic planning, execution and management of our portfolio of enterprise applications platforms. This portfolio includes core municipal systems for Land Management, Planning & Development, Engineering Parks & Environment, Public Safety, Real Estate and Economic Development. Also included in the applications are support systems for enterprise resource planning (ERP), People & Culture, IT, Clerks Office and Marketing and Communications.

The Enterprise Platforms Manager will lead the City’s application platform strategy design and execution, ensuring it effectively supports business processes and objectives. The role involves the execution of strategic planning, leading implementation initiatives and continuous improvement of solutions to optimize data integrity, application integration, operational efficiency and business outcome delivery. The position requires a strong technical background in applications, development and configuration, project/program management, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to align applications with business needs, manage vendor relationships and lead support teams that will help the organization achieve and maintain a stable and responsive portfolio of applications. It is expected that this leader will help the City keep up with the latest trends in the applications market, including (but not limited to) the use of modern approaches such as cloud, platform-as-a-service capabilities and embedded AI capabilities.

The Enterprise Platforms Manager will manage the team responsible for all development, configuration and integration of technology solutions including any cloud services and software as a service applications. In addition, the Enterprise Platforms Manager will help manage costs and prioritize initiatives with business stakeholders, driving measurable value from the early to the late stages of such initiatives. A key component of this role is business relationship management and you will work closely with stakeholders and business units to ensure client satisfaction.

You will draw on your strong leadership and facilitation skills to lead teams through multiple concurrent projects. You will also be knowledgeable and capable of managing risk and scope to deliver the objectives of your project plans and budgets successfully.

You have a degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline, with experience in applications platforms delivery, and managing enterprise projects. Your skills include demonstrated proficiency in systems development lifecycle management. Experience in Agile methodologies is an asset. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will ensure your success as you move projects forward, and your passion and energy will motivate and inspire your team members.

We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $119,964 - $141,132 annually (2024 rates). Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
