  • Perform analytical assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate capital and return implications of initiatives and strategies.
  • Contribute to improvements in data, methodologies, controls, and governance for capital allocation.
  • Identify and assess capital optimization opportunities across data, methodology, and product enhancements.
  • Develop concise, executive-ready presentations and analyses for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Job Description: Job Description / Accountabilities: The Manager will support TD’s enterprise capital management mandate, with a primary focus on strategic capital optimization and capital performance analytics. The role will contribute to identifying opportunities to improve capital efficiency, evaluating capital and return outcomes, and developing insights that support disciplined balance sheet usage and strategic decision‑making across businesses. The Manager will work closely with partners across Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, business segments and other enterprise teams to deliver high-quality analysis and executive-ready materials for senior management, governance committees and the Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance capital performance dashboards and analytics, including Return on Equity, Organic Capital Accretion, Economic Profit and related measures used to assess capital deployment and return outcomes.
  • Perform analytical assessments and scenario analysis to evaluate the capital and return implications of optimization initiatives and business strategies, clearly articulating key drivers, trade-offs and considerations.
  • Contribute to the continued enhancement of capital allocation methodologies and performance measurement approaches, including improvements to data, analytical processes, controls and governance.
  • Support the identification and assessment of capital optimization opportunities, including those arising from data, methodology and product-related enhancements.
  • Develop clear, concise and executive-ready presentations and analysis for senior management, governance committees and the Board of Directors.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, business segments and other enterprise teams to promote a consistent understanding of capital requirements, performance implications and opportunities to improve capital efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory capital frameworks, financial markets, banking products, business strategies and capital management practices to support informed analysis and recommendations.
Department Overview

The Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) department of TD Bank is responsible for overseeing the management of TD’s consolidated non-trading market risk, funds transfer pricing measurement framework, funding strategies and liquidity risk, and capital position. Enterprise Capital Management (ECM), within TBSM, is responsible for managing the Bank’s capital adequacy and efficiency, including the interpretation and application of regulatory capital requirements and capital optimization initiatives; capital allocation methodology; oversight of subsidiary capital management; coordination of regulatory advocacy; development and reporting of the Bank’s internal capital adequacy assessment process; support for the analysis of corporate development opportunities; and forecasting and analysis of TDBG’s consolidated regulatory capital requirements.

Job Requirements Qualifications / Skills / Experience
  • Knowledge or experience in the following areas is considered necessary: Relevant experience in capital management, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, business performance analytics or a related function within a financial institution.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess capital drivers, return outcomes, business implications and trade-offs across financial, strategic and operational dimensions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise and actionable insights, dashboards and executive-level materials for senior audiences.
  • Effective relationship management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, business segments and other enterprise partners.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in data visualization, reporting tools, automation or AI-enabled analytics considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex capital, regulatory and financial topics into clear, concise and executive-ready messaging.
  • Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage recurring deliverables and ad hoc requests under tight timelines.
  • A professional accounting or finance designation, such as a CFA, CPA, MBA or FRM, is considered an asset.
