The purpose of the role is to drive an efficient and effective Regulatory Reporting & Control function within Global Wholesale Operations. The Assistant Manager will handle daily controls and support projects. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring compliance of trade and transaction reporting activities with regulations such as MIFID 2, CIRO, CAT, SFTR, SMMD, and Electronic Bluesheets.
  2. Identifying and escalating reporting issues through reconciliation controls.
  3. Preparing management reports and dashboards.
  4. Remediating reporting issues and enhancing controls with stakeholders including Operational Risk Oversight, Technology, and Trade Repositories.
  5. Building expertise in regulatory reporting requirements across jurisdictions.
  6. Analyzing regulatory changes and supporting internal updates.
  7. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet reporting obligations.
  8. Participating in change management projects to ensure compliance and effective controls.
  9. Reviewing and improving current processes for efficiency.
  10. Creating and maintaining policies and procedures.
  11. Considering risk appetite and culture in daily activities.
  12. Ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance with risk management frameworks including AML/ATF and conduct risk policies.

Skills and qualifications

  • Strong business analysis skills and project lifecycle success.
  • Experience in daily controls, escalation, remediation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of reporting regimes such as MiFID II, SFTR, CIRO, SMMD, CAT, FR2420, and Bluesheets.
  • Problem-solving, strategic thinking, organizational, and data mining skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Technical skills including Power BI, Tableau, VBA, and data structuring.

  • Location: Toronto, ON
  • Workplace: On-site
  • Salary: $27.00 to $75.00 per hour
  • Terms: Permanent, Full-time
  • Start date: As soon as possible
