Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement, the Manager, Direct Procurement is responsible for process development, competency coaching, and supporting the procurement workflow of Procurement Specialists across all of Sofina’s processing plants. This role will also lead special projects to identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies within these plants.

Key Accountabilities

1. Procurement
   • Drive continuous improvement of performance standards related to direct procurement activities.
   • Conduct regular health checks on procurement processes, evaluating and improving Procurement Specialists' competency levels.
   • Develop and implement new standards as needed.
   • Monitor procurement requirements to ensure alignment with plant schedules.
   • Expedite delayed requirements and escalate issues to resolve shortages.
   • Apply problem-solving techniques to resolve service, quality, or cost deficiencies.
   • Manage vendor agreements to ensure quality, timely deliveries, and adherence to prices.
2. Replenishment
   • Collaborate with departments to ensure material purchases meet specifications.
   • Prepare and communicate annual volume forecasts to suppliers, developing stocking programs to reduce working capital.
   • Work with inventory management to minimize inventory levels using a lean, JIT approach.
   • Lead procurement projects to leverage buying power, improve efficiencies, and achieve cost savings.

Requirements

• Diploma in Business or PMAC.
• Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience.
• Knowledge of computerized purchasing systems and MRP.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
