Manager, Digital Systems Administration and Support

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of System Administration and Support to oversee the administration and utilization of design tools and project management applications across a large number of engineering construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of design tools, EDMS, and other systems, managing a team of specialists, and collaborating with various departments to support project and corporate goals.

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of complex application systems, including plant design tools, EDMS, Primavera, and others, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning effectively.
  • Support the use of design tools across multiple large-scale engineering construction projects.
  • Manage a team of application specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the application systems and administrative practices meet project requirements.
  • Develop and implement best practices for the use of the applications, including training programs and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, working with vendors and IT support as needed.
  • Monitor and report on the performance and usage of the systems, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in application systems and technology.

The ideal candidate:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud-based design tools and technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing design tools for large engineering construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of plant design tools such as AutoCAD, PDMS, SmartPlant, or similar software.
  • Proven experience in team management and leadership.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in application administration.
