Manager, Data Trust - Centre of Excellence

The Impact You'll Make:

The Data Trust Office is an enablement-first function, embedding privacy and data governance into our products and services to build customer loyalty and trust, ensuring compliance by default. As part of the Data Trust Center of Excellence (COE), which fosters a culture of data privacy, responsible handling, and effective governance across the organization, you will report to the Director, Data Trust COE. In this role, you'll empower the organization to leverage data responsibly, drive compliance programs, and enhance the customer experience with our office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to the strategic growth and operational excellence of the Data Trust Center of Excellence, fostering data privacy, responsible handling, and effective data governance.
  • Manage customer access, requests, and inquiries, and support third-party requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses within established privacy regulations, policies, and frameworks.
  • Transform customer interactions with the Data Trust Office by digitizing processes and automating customer intakes for compliant data request handling.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive data and privacy programs aligned with evolving regulations and best practices through clear policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Oversee periodic metrics and reporting, providing insights into data and privacy program performance and identifying areas for improvement.

What You Bring:

  • Experience working in privacy within a corporate retail, health, or other direct-to-consumer (DTC) industry is an asset. Experience working in Data Governance is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian privacy principles, data protection, and industry data best practices, including data governance. Understanding cybersecurity practices is an asset.
  • Privacy certification CIPP/C, CIPP/M, or equivalent experience preferred; Data Governance or Data Management related certifications or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • An innovative, creative, and action-oriented mindset, embracing data and privacy as a business enabler and driving practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
