We currently have an opportunity for a Manager Data Engineering Products in our Enterprise Data Office (EDO) to support our Marketing, Loyalty and Digital Data team. This position will be based out of Mississauga, Toronto depending on the successful candidate's location.

The Manager of Data Engineering Products has direct responsibility for the design, implementation and evolution of our Data Engineering processes supporting these data domains. This leader applies a “Data as a Product” approach to managing, protecting and growing our data assets in this space, ensuring that our data is ready to support next generation Analytics, Operations and business strategy execution.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

What you'll get to do in this fast-paced role:

• Lead team of Data Engineers delivering Data Assets to the Empire Data Market.
• Accountable for efficacy and resiliency of data engineering pipelines end to end; including working with Technology Solutions owners to ensure data flows are robust and supported.
• Engage business data owners to understand business context and intended usage informs how data will be structured and presented.
• Oversee all third party Data Engineering resources supporting Marketing, Loyalty and Digital data.
• Oversee build of Marketing, Loyalty and Digital Data models.
• Work with business and technical teams to understand and define data engineering solutions needed.
• Champion the build and use of Marketing, Loyalty and Digital data assets in Empire Data market.
• Champion data best practices among business and technical teams.
  • Champion the EDO goals and guiding principles.
  • Build trust in data and how we use it.
  • Establish and embed collaborative ways of working to accelerate our data transformation.
  • Champion the safe and scalable use of data across the organization.

What you have to offer:

What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:

• 10+ years of Data Solution delivery experience.
• And/or 5+ years of domain-specific expertise.
• Sound knowledge of effective data management practices (governance, data quality, data engineering, data standards).
• Understanding of marketing data including customer, transactions, behavior data, campaign management, audience segmentation and digital data.
• Ability to collaborate with business teams to understand data impacts and define data standards.
• Ability to understand and deliver data for use across analytics and AI use cases; understanding of AI/ML and feature engineering fundamentals .
• Ability to design resilient data solutions .
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to drive joint roadmap with Business and IT teams.
• Experience in ETL, Data Engineering and general Data Product Management methodologies .
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Cloud-based data management platforms and ETL solutions such as Azure ADLS, Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica or similar..
• In-depth knowledge and experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, and CI-CD tools
