Manager, Data Engineering – Dentalcorp

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering and Architecture, the Data Engineering Manager will assist in setting the vision for data engineering, establish best practices, and lead a high‑performing team to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Set strategic direction for data engineering initiatives, aligning with organizational goals and business priorities.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, robust, and reusable data pipelines and architectures.
  • Architect and guide the implementation of data warehousing solutions and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data systems, establishing policies and governance frameworks.
  • Drive data‑driven decision‑making and innovation across high‑impact projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Partner with QA, CloudOps, and other stakeholders to develop test strategies, automate processes, and optimize the DDLC.
  • Oversee release planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of data systems and infrastructure.
  • Translate business requirements into strategic technical roadmaps and actionable plans.
  • Provide expert consultation on evaluating data and software systems, recommending improvements and new technologies.
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience leading and managing data engineering teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, Python, Shell scripting, and modern data engineering tools (Snowflake, Boomi, Prefect).
  • Strong understanding of ETL, API development, data modeling, and data architecture.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools (GIT, Docker, Jenkins, Octopus) and CI/CD pipeline automation.
  • Expert with DBT for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to set strategic vision, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast‑paced organization.
