Job Description:
Reporting to the Director, Customer and System Projects, this position will provide leadership to a team of Project Managers primarily focused on the execution of Customer projects and AESO Direct Assigned projects. The position is accountable for overseeing the delivery of projects safely, on schedule and within budget, including dealing with contractors and suppliers to ensure project success. Familiarity with a gated project process and project governance and compliance requirements will be an asset. Ideally the successful candidate will have a track record of developing effective working relationships not only with internal departments, but with external stakeholders including customers, government agencies and regulators.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a regulated environment and engaging with senior leaders internally, with the Alberta Electric System Operator and with customers to ensure AltaLink delivers excellent levels of customer satisfaction.
The position will require the ability to make quick decisions and use past project execution experience to provide guidance to the team on project and organizational issues.
This is a leadership role which will include developing employees, establishing goals and objectives, setting priorities, and driving continuous improvement in addition to managing people day-to-day.
