Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Manager, Custom Applications in Mississauga to lead our internal/mobile and web app portfolio. You will manage 14 developers and 3 QA analysts, drive end-to-end delivery, and partner with Business Analysis to translate priorities into technical roadmaps.

You will oversee MVL releases, ensure quality and security, and steer the team toward modern architecture across C#, .NET, Azure/AWS, and evolving mobile stacks.

Qualifications

• Leadership of technical teams with hands-on coding experience.
• Deep, hands-on software development background.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Experience managing developers and QA in commercial application development.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile practices.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own sprint planning and execution across the application portfolio.
• Make MVL release decisions and sequence work realistically.
• Ensure context is provided for go/no-go decisions at leadership level.
• Lead teams to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Run daily stand-ups and keep delivery visible and on track.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of developers and QA analysts.
• Identify and close skills gaps and plan resourcing for future needs.
• Maintain vision for the application landscape and guide the team to perform.
• Build adherence to standards for secure architecture.
• Identify and deliver AI capabilities into the portfolio in a cost-conscious way.
• Partner with Business Analysis on prioritized work and releases.
• Maintain independence of QA to ensure objective testing.
