Job description

The Opportunity: Disability Programs is seeking a collaborative, values-driven Manager to join the provincial Crisis and Respite Services leadership team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In this role, you will oversee Assessment, Stabilization and Planned Respite Services, ensuring high-quality care and meaningful outcomes for clients and families.

This portfolio includes a 24/7 residential assessment and stabilization service that provides immediate assistance during periods of increased need, as well as planned respite services that offer proactive support to clients, families, and caregivers. Together, these programs promote stability, strengthen community connections, and help individuals achieve their personal goals.

You will provide strategic and operational direction to a multidisciplinary team, advancing service excellence, employee engagement, and innovative approaches across the crisis and respite continuum. You will champion continuous quality improvement and cultivate strong, person-centred relationships with clients and families, while building collaborative partnerships with community agencies and stakeholders throughout the province. This is an opportunity for a leader who is passionate about fostering inclusive, responsive services while empowering both the clients we support and the teams delivering that support.

Ideal Candidate:

You are an experienced professional with demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading multidisciplinary teams within a 24/7 service environment.
  • Managing budgets, staffing resources, scheduling, and operational expenditures.
  • Interpreting and applying legislation, collective agreements, ethical practices, and regulatory requirements within a unionized environment.
  • Building positive relationships with clients, families, caregivers, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting staff through effective supervision, orientation, training, professional development, and performance management.
  • Supporting teams through complex situations and making sound decisions in dynamic and high-pressure environments.
  • Effectively managing conflict, facilitating difficult conversations, and navigating competing priorities with professionalism and empathy.
  • Leading organizational change, quality improvement initiatives, and service enhancements.
  • Aligning program operations with organizational priorities and the evolving needs of clients and families.
  • Delivering person-centered services that promote dignity, inclusion, and meaningful outcomes for clients with intellectual disabilities.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this position would be obtained through a degree in Human Services or a related field with a minimum of 3 year's experience leading a high performing team, ideally within the disability sector or related human service field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.

Travel may be required to attend meetings away from headquarters. A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
