Qualifications

The opportunity

EY’s Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice is an advisory unit that provides risk management support to banks, insurance companies and asset managers. Our team includes individuals who have a combination of qualitative, quantitative, regulatory and technology skills. We are seeking Senior Consultant(s) with Credit risk lifecycle and strategy experience acquired in the banking industry or in consulting services to join our team. They will be based in our Toronto office and must be able to work in English.

Your Key Responsibilities

The FSRM senior consultant will be responsible for engagement execution and delivery, take part in EY educational program to continuously develop skills as well as developing and maintaining productive relationships with clients. You’ll also spend your time teaming with credit risk management and industry professionals to develop and deliver a wide range of credit risk strategies and credit lifecycle solutions for both retail and non-retail segment. Ability to travel on short notice to serve Canadian clients outside Toronto (expected travel is less than 20%).

Skills And Attributes For Success

Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills to describe ideas, concepts and issues that involve interpretation, analysis, and assessment of complex conceptual topics

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 3 -5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong academic background with a master’s degree in finance or engineering (equivalent education and/or experience may also be considered)
  • Knowledge of credit risk strategies and credit lifecycle in retail and non-retail segment
  • Develop and maintain risk strategies and decision support tools using analytics, predictive modelling and business rules to optimize decisions and productivity.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic risk issues and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of credit risk strategies, risk policies, risk appetite and risk/return dynamics, including the drivers of risk and profitability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in credit lifecycle and strategy design, development and implementation and query resolution

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Consulting, risk management, credit risk modeling/testing, or regulatory experience, or accounting/control function experience
  • Self starting attitude, an ability to think out of the box and driven by new challenges
  • Professional working proficiency in French
