Job description

For over 45 years, Foss National Leasing (FNL) has been a part of the Foss Automotive Group, established in 1967. It is the largest privately owned and operated fleet management company in Canada. Foss has a reputation for superior customer service and providing solutions tailored specifically to the needs of today’s automotive fleet managers.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Credit & Risk to join our team at Foss National Leasing. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing credit assessment processes, managing risk exposure, and developing strategies to optimize financial performance while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to contribute to the success and growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess customers credit worthiness and set and manage customer credit limits.
  • Ensure compliance with our financial institution’s credit requirements.
  • Utilize available credit information to evaluate credit risk, determine payment terms, and set appropriate credit limits for new accounts.
  • Assist in the collections of outstanding customer amounts.
  • Monitor the Accounts Receivables of multiple locations to ensure timely collection of funds and handle the most.
  • Manage escalated and high-dollar receivables, negotiating payment arrangements, and recommending actions for bad debt, collections, or legal recourse.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by AR staff and that all transactions are correctly reflected in the accounts.
  • Continuously strive to improve work methods and processes.
  • Ad hoc projects and duties as required.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting / Finance.
  • 5 years credit and collections management experience.
  • Experience using Equifax, Dun & Bradstreet, Moody’s, Fitch, and S&P Global Ratings.
  • Strong knowledge of credit environment, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Strong judgement, problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
