The Manager – Credit and Accounts Receivable will be responsible for managing the company’s credit risk and optimizing the accounts receivable process. This role is essential for maintaining healthy cash flow, strong customer relationships, and supporting commercial operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and strong leadership skills to drive results through a high-performing credit and A/R team.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Risk Management:

  • Develop and enforce credit policies aligned with company objectives and industry standards.
  • Perform credit assessments and set credit limits for customers.
  • Monitor credit exposures, aging reports, and mitigate risks proactively.
  • Coordinate with trade and treasury teams to structure credit terms and manage contractual obligations.

Accounts Receivable Operations:

  • Oversee end-to-end A/R processes including collections and cash application.
  • Ensure timely collection of receivables and manage overdue accounts escalations.
  • Reduce DSO and improve collection efficiency.
  • Manage customer reconciliations and resolve billing discrepancies with customer service.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present A/R performance reports and aging summaries to senior management.
  • Analyze customer payment patterns and provide strategic insights.
  • Maintain accurate records and support month-end closing activities.

Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Support audits with proper documentation.
  • Lead process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and develop a team of credit analysts and A/R specialists.
  • Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with Trade, Customer Service, Treasury, and Finance teams to support business goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 6–10+ years of experience in credit control and accounts receivable, preferably in pharma or healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, collections, and A/R metrics.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), advanced Excel, and BI tools is a plus.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams or direct reports.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with pharma-specific pricing, chargebacks, and discounts.

KPIs:

  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Percentage of overdue receivables
  • Bad debt write-off rate
  • Credit review and approval cycle time
  • Team performance metrics
