Job description

The Bragg Group of Companies is a diverse corporate group with its head office in Oxford, Nova Scotia, operating in Canada, the United States and select international jurisdictions. With over 6,000 employees, our operations span the telecommunications and entertainment, food manufacturing and agriculture, aviation services, real estate and renewable power production industries. We are seeking a tax professional to join our head office tax team, responsible for managing the corporate tax function for the entire group of companies. As part of this team, you will report to the Senior Manager of Finance & Taxation.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the income tax aspects of our group, including Canadian tax compliance, research and audit coordination.
  • Work directly with our accounting teams by preparing annual tax provisions, along with cash tax projections.
  • Collaborate with our operational teams in transaction reviews and contribute to other planning initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • A CPA designation, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in corporate tax.
  • Enrolled in or completed the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or equivalent.
  • Exposure to US corporate tax would be an asset.

  • Advanced computer literacy and skills, with proficiency in Taxprep software.
  • Energy and a keen interest in learning about our businesses.

  • Ability to research tax issues and communicate effectively with advisors and management.
